Overview
Our client is looking for a seasoned Senior Modern Workplace Engineer to take charge of implementing, configuring, and maintaining Microsoft 365 and Modern Workplace solutions. This role requires a hands-on, senior engineer proficient in creating secure and optimized Modern Workplace environments using Microsoft's latest cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and maintain Modern Workplace infrastructures within Microsoft 365 ecosystems.
- Provide expert-level technical support and engineering guidance for Microsoft Copilot readiness, enablement, configuration, and governance.
- Manage data governance and compliance tasks leveraging Microsoft Purview.
- Deliver secure, cloud-first workplace solutions with robust implementation and support.
- Conduct hands-on implementations such as Microsoft 365 migrations, tenant setups, and configurations.
- Manage Microsoft Intune for endpoint security, device compliance, and application deployment.
- Enable and support Microsoft Copilot adoption among users.
- Implement Microsoft Purview features including data loss prevention, sensitivity labels, retention policies, and information protection.
- Implement identity, access, and security controls with Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and identity governance.
- Deploy Microsoft Defender solutions spanning endpoints, identity, email, and cloud services.
- Contribute to technical workshops, planning sessions, and assessments by providing practical engineering expertise.
- Support project scoping and technical planning by offering implementation insights, effort estimates, and delivery considerations.
- Create comprehensive technical documentation, implementation plans, and customer handover materials.
- Mentor junior engineers, share knowledge internally, and enhance the continuous improvement of Modern Workplace engineering standards.
Skills and Technical Expertise
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Strong capabilities with Microsoft Intune, modern desktop management, endpoint security, device compliance, and application delivery.
- Advanced knowledge of identity and access management including Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, and MFA.
- Experience implementing and managing Microsoft Copilot readiness, configuration, adoption support, and governance.
- Expertise in Microsoft Purview for data governance including DLP, sensitivity labeling, information protection, retention, and compliance.
- Familiarity with cloud security principles, Microsoft Defender technologies, and modern workplace security controls.
- PowerShell skills for scripting and automation are a plus.
Experience Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Modern Workplace engineering, Microsoft Cloud, infrastructure, or endpoint management roles.
- Proven capability delivering technical implementations, migrations, operational improvements, and support enhancements.
- Experience in MSP, infrastructure, or multi-customer technical support environments.
- Involvement in Microsoft 365 migrations, tenant configuration, security, identity, endpoint management, compliance initiatives, and Microsoft Copilot and AI readiness is essential.
Certifications (Preferred)
- Relevant Microsoft Azure, Security, or AI certifications, such as AZ-500, SC-100, SC-200, SC-300, and SC-401.
- Microsoft Endpoint Administrator certification (e.g., MD-102) is advantageous.
- Certifications specific to Microsoft Copilot, AI, Modern Workplace, or compliance are beneficial.
