Role Overview and Responsibilities

We are looking for a Research Engineer to lead the development and operation of the backend inference systems powering our world models. This entails building and maintaining high-speed, dependable, and scalable services that transform state-of-the-art research models into functional products and APIs.

• Take full responsibility for the inference APIs and services driving our product, from initial requests through to output generation.
• Enhance performance, reliability, and cost efficiency at scale by optimizing GPU utilization and minimizing device memory consumption.
• Integrate cutting-edge methodologies to boost inference efficiency.
• Deploy research prototypes as customer-tailored production solutions.
• Collaborate closely with research and product teams to transition new models to end-users.

Required Qualifications

• Over three years of software engineering experience within AI, machine learning, or computer vision product settings.
• Proven track record in designing and managing production-level APIs.
• Proficiency in Python and deploying containerized services targeting GPU inference environments.
• Practical experience optimizing GPU inference, including profiling, memory management, batching strategies, and addressing cold start issues.
• Knowledge or experience working with 3D data or computer vision domains is highly desirable.
