- Manage day-to-day legal concerns related to product development, contract lifecycle, and structuring.
- Collaborate with product and business teams to provide actionable legal advice that enables innovation while reducing legal risk.
- Create and examine customer-facing documents, platform terms, conditions, and clickwrap agreements.
- Track legal and regulatory changes relevant to digital and AI products and offer proactive guidance, escalating key strategic risks.
- Advise on product positioning from a legal perspective.
- Support marketing and CRM teams by reviewing and approving marketing and promotional materials to ensure legal compliance.
- Offer timely, commercial-focused advice on campaigns, customer communications, and promotional content.
- Serve as the primary legal contact for customer engagement and go-to-market strategies.
- Assist the Head of Legal with strategic projects such as joint ventures, market entry initiatives, and major partnership agreements, plus other ad hoc legal matters.
- Contribute to executive decision-making by providing practical, solution-focused advice on commercial, product, and marketing legal issues.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research and furnish detailed internal reports to support informed business decisions.
- Deliver training for non-legal teams including sales, product, and marketing on legal risks and processes.
- Help the Head of Legal manage external counsel, overseeing instructions, deliverables, and fee negotiations aligned to budget and value.
Qualifications and Personal Attributes
- Educated in the UK with verifiable experience at a UK law firm or reputable in-house legal department.
- Qualified lawyer with between 3 and 6 years post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Proficient in contract drafting, review, and negotiation, able to operate independently with minimal oversight.
- Experience in media, technology, and communications legal matters; knowledge of intellectual property or digital assets is highly valued.
- Comfortable with cross-border commercial work and collaborating within multi-jurisdictional teams.
- Highly meticulous, organized, and conscientious.
- Excellent communicator with strong writing and drafting skills in English.
- Strong legal research abilities and a proactive problem-solver.
- Adaptable, able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
