Job description

Role Overview

The Merchandising Team Leader is responsible for overseeing and inspiring a merchandising team to ensure optimal in-store product presentation and execution in line with company standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and develop merchandiser staff, providing guidance and supervision.
  • Ensure correct application of FIFO stock rotation and that product placement aligns with the Planogram.
  • Manage merchandising operations including follow-ups, application of company policies, scheduling store visits, planning deliveries, and execution protocols.
  • Oversee and optimize the merchandising routes, encouraging creative displays and in-store events to enhance brand presence.
  • Conduct on-the-job training and motivational activities for merchandisers.
  • Monitor payroll and vacation schedules of the merchandising team.
  • Implement and drive the use of Point of Sale Materials (POSM) and facilitate effective communication.
  • Ensure contractual compliance regarding allocated shelf space and sustain strong relationships with clients.
  • Coordinate and drive promotional events and merchandising initiatives during festivals and in-store activities.
  • Regularly assess and enhance merchandiser route efficiency while maintaining high standards of in-store execution, reflecting the Perfect Store principles.
  • Manage, coach, and train a diverse team across multiple depots, acting as a key link between marketing, sales, and logistics departments.
  • Track trade reports and maintain active communication with the sales team.
  • Perform additional sales and merchandising related tasks as needed.

Eligibility and Skills

  • University degree or diploma completed.
  • At least three years’ experience in FMCG merchandising and sales field.
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities.
  • Proven leadership and effective communication skills.
  • Fluency in both Arabic and English, written and spoken.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint.
