Merchandiser - Full Time, Hourly (Day Shift)

Role Overview

Join a locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart store to support health, beauty, and convenience offerings within your community, prioritizing excellent customer focus throughout your duties.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Organize backroom inventory following established Backroom Inventory Management processes.
• Operate PDT and MMS systems to carry out daily assigned tasks effectively.
• Manage product exit strategies and returns as directed.
• Maintain expertise in assigned inventory areas including product placement and monitoring expiry dates.
• Ensure store standards related to image and current trends are upheld consistently.
• Create and maintain product displays that are attractive and easy for consumers to shop.

Receiving Tasks

• Receive merchandise in compliance with company receiving policies and procedures.
• Keep backroom organized and tidy based on backroom organization principles.
• Complete all necessary documentation for received and returned goods accurately.
• Assist Front Store Management in sustaining quality and store standards.

Customer Service

• Present a professional and clean appearance consistent with uniform and dress policies.
• Proactively greet and assist customers on the sales floor.

General Compliance & Duties

• Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations applicable to the store environment.
• Follow company store standards and loss prevention policies thoroughly.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Sound judgment and planning abilities to make well-informed decisions.
• Excellent organizational skills, efficiency, and attention to cleanliness.
• Adaptability to changing retail conditions on the sales floor.
• Accurate and efficient handling of cash transactions, if applicable.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with cash register operations.
• Strong record-keeping abilities and attention to detail.
• Capability to work independently and be self-driven.

Working Conditions

• Flexible availability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to use ladders as needed within the store.

Compensation
