Merchandiser – FMCG

Role Overview

This role involves regularly visiting assigned retail locations such as supermarkets, hypermarkets, groceries, and other retail outlets to ensure that products are displayed correctly and consistently according to brand standards. The merchandiser must verify stock availability, maintain planograms, and manage promotional materials effectively, all while fostering good relationships with store personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily visits to assigned retail outlets following a planned route.
• Assure that products are arranged neatly, displayed optimally, and kept adequately stocked on shelves.
• Maintain planograms, monitor shelf share, uphold visibility standards, and ensure brand guidelines are adhered to.
• Check product availability and coordinate with sales teams for timely replenishment.
• Keep track of expiration dates and apply FIFO/FEFO stock rotation methods.
• Manage price tags, promotional displays, and Point-of-Sale Materials (POSM) to support product marketing.
• Identify and report stock shortages promptly to prevent out-of-stock scenarios.
• Observe and report competitors’ pricing, promotional strategies, and merchandising activities.
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with store supervisors and outlet staff.
• Support product launches, seasonal campaigns, and promotional efforts as needed.
• Prepare and submit detailed daily reports of outlet visits, including relevant photographs.
• Report damaged or expired items and ensure they are handled according to company protocols.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least four years of hands-on experience in merchandising within the FMCG sector, preferably dealing with beverages, bottled water, food products, or consumer goods.
• Proven track record of working with various retail channels such as supermarkets, hypermarkets, groceries, and modern trade outlets.
• Good understanding of the retail environment in the UAE, along with practical merchandising techniques.
• Comprehensive knowledge of shelf management, product visibility enhancement, planogram adherence, stock rotation principles (FIFO/FEFO), and utilization of POSM.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to operate independently and manage multiple retail locations efficiently.
• Physically capable of daily travel and visits to various outlets.
• Experience within the UAE market is highly desirable.
• Preference will be given to candidates who can join immediately.

Immediate joining candidates are preferred for this role. The position requires physical fitness and readiness to travel daily to multiple retail locations across Dubai.
