We focus on designing and constructing turnkey electrical power projects such as High Voltage Substations, Cable Networks, and Transmission Lines.

Job Overview

This role involves the design of Electrical Lighting, Small Power, and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems to ensure efficient electrical functioning and controls within buildings. As an MEP Electrical Design Engineer, you will be key in the design stages of MEP projects, delivering optimized electrical system designs compliant with local codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with project teams to grasp project needs and objectives, creating comprehensive design plans, specifications, and schematics for Electrical Lighting, Small Power, and ELV systems.
• Perform calculations to determine the appropriate sizing and selection of cables, lighting, and devices ensuring reliable system operation for residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
• Prepare detailed design calculations and drawings to guide procurement and installation of electrical systems.
• Develop comprehensive designs that comply with project goals, local building codes, and industry standards.
• Maintain thorough design documentation including drawings, schematics, riser and cable schedules, equipment lists, and technical reports.
• Work collaboratively with project managers, architects, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems effectively within building services.
• Incorporate energy-efficient technologies and practices into designs to reduce environmental impact and minimize operating costs.
• Ensure all designs meet safety regulations, building codes, and industry norms.
• Provide technical support during construction responding promptly to Requests for Information (RFIs) ensuring proper implementation and performance of electrical systems.
• Conduct quality assurance checks to confirm design plans are accurate and comprehensive.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years experience working as an Electrical Design Engineer focused on MEP projects.

Knowledge and Skills

• Expertise in using design software/tools pertinent to MEP installations.
• Good understanding of MEP systems, terminology, construction practices, and building codes.
• In-depth knowledge of Electrical Lighting, Small Power, and ELV systems components and equipment.
• Familiarity with regulations and industry standards relating to building electrical systems.
