About the Role

Tullamore Court Hotel is seeking a dependable and organized Meetings & Events Porter to join their dedicated team. This role is pivotal in setting up and maintaining the meeting rooms, conference spaces, and function areas to ensure all events are executed flawlessly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up meeting and event spaces following specific event requirements.
  • Safely and efficiently arrange tables, chairs, staging, and other event-related equipment.
  • Prepare refreshment areas, including water, stationery, and other materials needed for meetings.
  • Assist with basic audiovisual equipment and promptly report technical problems.
  • Greet event organizers and guests, addressing any requests during events.
  • Keep meeting and function areas clean, organized, and presentable.
  • Perform room changes and turnover tasks within scheduled timeframes.
  • Help with the transportation, storage, and care of conference and banqueting equipment.
  • Maintain clear communication with event coordinators, managers, and other departments.
  • Abide by safety protocols including manual handling, fire safety, and health and security procedures.
  • Support food and beverage service during meetings, functions, and special events as needed.
  • Ensure every event is delivered professionally, adhering to the event plan.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience in hotels, event setups, conferences, or banqueting is preferred but not mandatory; comprehensive training will be provided.
  • Consistent punctuality and reliability.
  • Strong organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Effective communication and guest service aptitude.
  • Capability to accurately follow event plans and setup instructions.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Physically capable of handling tasks involving moving furniture and equipment safely.
  • Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • A positive, supportive attitude towards colleagues and the workplace.
