Job description

About We The People

We The People is a social-first marketing agency dedicated to helping brands seize attention on digital and social platforms through a combination of speed, cultural relevance, and creativity. With offices in Melbourne, Sydney, and Auckland, the agency partners with renowned Australian brands such as Jetstar, Target, Amazon, Cobram Estate, and Berocca.

Role Overview

We are seeking a driven Paid Media & Optimisation Specialist to join our Melbourne team. This role requires hands-on management of paid media campaigns spanning digital and traditional channels, including daily optimization, execution, and reporting. Collaborating closely with the Media Activation Lead and cross-functional teams, you'll analyze performance data, negotiate with vendors, handle technical trafficking, and derive actionable insights to drive commercial growth for clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement media purchases across digital platforms such as Meta, Google, TikTok, and Demand Side Platforms including DV360, Trade Desk, and Amazon, as well as traditional media outlets.
  • Oversee technical trafficking processes, managing tracking pixels, UTM parameters, and tagging creative assets to ensure accurate campaign tracking across channels.
  • Support media plan development by engaging with publishers and vendors to negotiate rates and respond to briefs.
  • Work directly within platforms to adjust bids, refine audience targeting, and conduct A/B tests to consistently improve campaign performance above benchmarks.
  • Prepare weekly performance reports that analyze both media delivery and creative effectiveness, providing clear strategic recommendations.
  • Confidently present media plans, optimization insights, and campaign results to client stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least 4 years of experience in planning and executing media campaigns, preferably within an agency environment.
  • Proven expertise in managing both digital paid social/programmatic and traditional media campaigns.
  • Strong data literacy with an analytical mindset to identify performance trends and correlations independently.
  • Deep understanding of the interplay between creative content and media strategy to maximize campaign outcomes.
  • Robust commercial sense and precision in managing budgets, scopes, and booking details.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with confidence in delivering persuasive presentations.
  • Experience managing regional campaigns across Australia and New Zealand is an advantage.

Work Location and Conditions

This is a full-time position based in our Collingwood office in Melbourne. Flexible working arrangements are provided to support work-life balance beyond traditional office hours.

Additional Information

Candidates must have legal authorization to live and work in Australia and be located in Melbourne to be considered. We value a vibrant and passionate workplace culture alongside opportunities for professional growth and career advancement.
