Mechanical Draftsman

Role Overview

This position involves creating General Arrangement (GA) Drawings, Manufacturing Drawings, and Layouts including Pit Drawings specifically for Puzzle Parking, Stack Parking, Tower Parking, and Car Lift systems. The candidate will collaborate with Design Engineers to translate conceptual designs into precise 2D and 3D drawings meant for client approvals and production at the factory.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop accurate 2D GA Drawings, Layouts, and Section Views using AutoCAD.
• Create 3D models and assemblies using software like SolidWorks or Inventor.
• Prepare Manufacturing Drawings incorporating GD&T annotations, tolerances, and welding symbols.
• Generate Bills of Materials (BOM) from 3D models.
• Adjust drawings based on site measurements and sales survey data.
• Produce drawings required for client, architect, and regulatory approvals such as RTO, Fire, and Municipal authorities.
• Implement prompt revisions based on client feedback.
• Liaise with the Sales team concerning technical feasibility matters.
• Maintain an organized Drawing Register, manage revisions and numbering systems effectively.
• Ensure all drawings are meticulously error-free to prevent material wastage during manufacturing.
• Organize and archive drawings systematically on the company server.
• Prepare comprehensive installation and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals incorporating drawings.
• Create As-Built drawings upon project finalization.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Expert proficiency with AutoCAD 2D is mandatory.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or Inventor for 3D modeling and assembly.
• Familiarity with GD&T principles, welding symbols, and tolerance standards.
• Understanding of mechanical fabrication processes such as MS structures, sheet metal works, laser cutting, bending, and welding.
• Knowledge about hydraulics, motors, chains, ropes, pulleys, and bearings is advantageous.
• Experience or familiarity with Puzzle Parking, Stack Parking, lifts, and material handling equipment is highly desired.
• Ability to interpret civil drawings and comprehend building structures.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Educational background: ITI Draftsman certificate, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or BE Mechanical.
• Professional experience ranging from 2 to 8 years in roles such as Mechanical Draftsman, AutoCAD Draftsman, or Design Draftsman.
• Previous work experience in industries including Parking Systems, Lifts, Material Handling, Steel Structures, Machine Manufacturing, or Special Purpose Machines (SPM) is essential.

Additional Information

Salary offered ranges between 15,000 and 30,000 INR monthly.
