Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at a client site in Bangalore, located near Sitharampalya metro station. The position requires 1 to 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical design and drafting, focusing on CAD tools, manufacturing processes, and engineering standards. The role operates onsite five days a week, with options for morning and afternoon shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize CAD models, standard parts, templates, skeletons, and layouts for efficient reuse across products and manufacturing units.
- Ensure CAD models include precise and complete metadata aligned with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) demands.
- Review and correct CAD model attributes, parameters, and analysis outputs, including bulk modifications using automation and data extraction tools.
- Resolve CAD model dependencies by removing unused references and eliminating ghost objects, especially in shared libraries.
- Simplify family tables to maintain correct instance usage and reduce maintenance complexity.
- Assist with Windchill check-in processes by fixing validation errors and ensuring consistency between CAD data and PLM structures.
- Collaborate with factory engineering and PLM teams to uphold data quality governance and promote reuse strategies for standard parts and library content.
- Contribute to the formulation of CAD and PLM standards, best practices documentation, and user training initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in mechanical design and drafting.
- Proficiency with PTC Creo for parts, assemblies, templates, and data modification.
- Working knowledge of Windchill PLM, including metadata governance, validation, and check-in workflows.
- Experience with CAD data cleaning, standard parts library management, and Engineering BOM practices in PLM environments.
- Attention to detail with aptitude for analyzing and systematically correcting large volumes of CAD models and metadata.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills to work with cross-functional engineering and PLM teams.
Technical Skills
- In-depth understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with manufacturing methods including plastics, machining, casting, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Knowledge of engineering drawing standards and industry best practices.
Soft Skills
- Problem-solving focus emphasizing quality and precision.
- Effective communication and teamwork capabilities.
- Aptitude to work in client-facing and dynamic environments.
Additional Details
- Work location is at the client site in Bangalore.
- Work schedule includes two possible shifts: morning and afternoon.
- Immediate to 15 days’ notice period required.
- Mandatory work from office all five weekdays.
- Two-stage virtual interview process involving a 20-minute technical round and a one-hour CREO tool test.
