Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

We offer a remarkable opportunity for a motivated and dedicated Mechanical Design Engineer to join an expanding and innovative company located in Cavan, Ireland. Our organisation has extensive experience in the engineering industry combined with advanced manufacturing expertise.

As a key member of the team reporting to the Head of Design, you will be responsible for creating designs of distribution transformers tailored to customers' requirements and helping to broaden our technical capabilities. Collaboration with cross-functional departments will be essential to uphold superior product standards throughout delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive technical specifications, detailed design drawings, and required documentation for use by customers and production teams.
• Oversee and coordinate the prototype manufacturing process and engage with R&D efforts to enhance design efficiency.
• Refine product designs to align precisely with customers' needs.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to ensure all design criteria are accurately fulfilled.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Well-versed with 3D CAD software such as CREO as well as Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment with an understanding of quality compliance standards.
• Preferably experienced with SAP and hold a full clean driving licence.
• Available to work on site and willing to travel for business purposes when necessary.
