Position Summary

The Meat Clerk operates in a high-paced, multifaceted environment, often working independently or alongside team members within a cold storage setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to customers when needed.
• Efficiently and carefully stock and wrap meat products within expected time frames.
• Manage raw meat handling including wrapping, pricing, and stocking in display cases.
• Use meat department machinery such as auto wrappers, scales, and slicers.
• Lift and transport products weighing up to 50 pounds safely.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations as directed by supervisory staff.
• Clean display cases and restock supplies as necessary.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Effective listening and communication abilities.
• Physical capability to handle lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting during product handling and equipment operation.
• Adaptability and effectiveness in a fast-moving work environment.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Frequent standing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and walking within the store premises.
• Work settings vary from typical retail store atmospheres, with noise levels ranging from quiet to loud.
• Temperature may fluctuate between regular and cooler areas.
• Sitting is minimal in this role.

Additional Information

The store operates daily from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Starting pay for this role is open to negotiation within the specified range.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly wage range for this position is $17.05 to $20.00, with pay influenced by location, individual skills, experience, education, and training.
