Job Summary

This full-time role requires open availability and on-site presence. The Meat Clerk will handle receiving, rotating, wrapping, and merchandising meats, assist with seafood and other prepared foods, provide customer assistance, and uphold cleanliness and safety standards within the meat department.

Responsibilities

• Follow assigned duties and support adherence to club policies and compliance.
• Maintain accountability and strive for flawless execution of tasks.
• Act with honesty and integrity, prioritizing member satisfaction and appropriately escalating concerns.
• Ensure a safe, positive work environment fostering inclusion, collaboration, and respect.
• Work as a team to meet goals, adapting quickly to change and maintaining a friendly attitude.
• Deliver excellent customer service by answering product questions, recommending items, and addressing member concerns professionally.
• Weigh, package, wrap, and label various meats, assisting meat cutter as needed and potentially grinding hamburger meat.
• Inspect and store incoming shipments to meet quality standards.
• Keep meat, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses stocked and rotated properly according to expiration.
• Unpack deliveries for meats and other related products in coolers and freezers.
• Thoroughly clean and sanitize all department equipment and display cases.
• Maintain compliance with club standards daily, including accurate signage, organized displays, and promotional execution.
• Understand department production and financial reports to connect performance to daily tasks.
• Perform other duties including assisting other departments as required.
• Maintain regular, predictable, and full attendance.

Qualifications

• Experience with fresh and processed meats preferred.
• Familiarity with automatic or hand wrapping machines is advantageous.
• Prior work in meat or deli departments is a plus.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Work Environment

• Frequent movement on hard surfaces including standing, bending, reaching, and handling merchandise.
• Ability to lift objects up to 30 pounds regularly; may require assistance for heavier or awkward items.
• Work performed indoors with occasional exposure to temperature changes, cleaning agents, and noise.

Compensation

The starting wage for this position is approximately $16.25 per hour, with final pay determined by factors such as location, education, experience, and qualifications.
