Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the meat department’s cleanliness, organization, and correct zoning at all times, ensuring readiness for customers.
• Regularly rotate stock and promptly remove items that are unsellable or expired.
• Ensure that all meat products are accurately priced and correctly signed, following protocols for ordering, marking up or down, clearance, and labeling.
• Adhere strictly to food safety standards and cold chain protocols, including temperature monitoring, equipment calibration, proper handling, and compliance with sell-by and expiration dates.
• Prepare and serve deli products like meat, cheese, and fried chicken using equipment such as slicers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers, safely fulfilling customer special orders and stocking display cases.
• Follow health and safety policies to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe workplace environment.
• Demonstrate flexibility by working various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support store operations and consistent customer service.

Challenges in the Role

• Manage heavy workloads effectively, particularly during overnight shifts, by planning to sustain energy and focus.
• Handle fast-paced restocking and merchandising tasks with accuracy and timeliness.
• Perform physical duties such as prolonged standing, bending, lifting inventory or equipment weighing up to 20 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
• Carry out repetitive tasks like stocking and zoning with attention to detail to uphold department standards.

Compensation

This role has a minimum starting wage of $18.05 per hour.
