About Empowered Systems Group
Empowered Systems Group (ESG) specializes in technology and education, providing managed IT solutions along with STEM education initiatives. We are initiating a tutoring service aimed at Australian students in Years 7 through 10, helping them strengthen the mathematical foundation needed for their ATAR pathway. We seek to appoint our inaugural Mathematics Tutor to contribute to the program's foundational development.
Role Overview
The selected candidate will conduct personalized and small-group Mathematics lessons online, targeting Year 7–10 students. The focus will be on consolidating core mathematics concepts and honing skills that prepare students for their ATAR-related senior studies. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence and grow ESG's tutoring offerings from inception.
Responsibilities
- Provide engaging Mathematics lessons aligned to curriculum standards for Years 7–10 through online platforms
- Evaluate student development and customize lesson plans to meet specific learning requirements
- Create relevant practice exercises, solved examples, and homework tasks consistent with the Australian curriculum
- Maintain professional communications with students and, when applicable, their parents or guardians
- Ensure dependable scheduling and attendance for tutoring sessions
Qualifications & Requirements
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Engineering, or related fields
- Ownership of a functional laptop equipped with stable internet connectivity suitable for virtual tutoring
- Residency in Chitungwiza or proximate areas
- Strong grasp of essential Mathematics concepts including algebra, geometry, statistics, and problem-solving
- Clear and patient communication style suited to online one-on-one instruction
- Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently
Additional Preferred Experience
- Experience in tutoring, teaching, or mentoring is advantageous but not mandatory
- Knowledge of the Australian curriculum framework or ATAR system is beneficial
