Material Handler

Overview

Join Mars as a Material Handler at our King Abdullah Economic City facility in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. Work as a vital member of a shift team responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient receipt, storage, handling, and movement of materials within warehouses and production lines. Key Responsibilities

• Operate all material handling equipment (MHEs) in assigned warehouse and production areas following strict safety protocols.
• Maintain full compliance with all safety regulations, training, and emergency procedures, promptly reporting incidents and participating in safety closure processes.
• Adhere to GMP-GHP standards, uphold 5S discipline, and ensure floor markings are maintained.
• Conduct visual inspections of equipment, batteries, cables, and charging systems regularly.
• Verify and supervise cleaning activities per master cleaning plans.
• Escalate material-related issues and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to production leaders and Quality & Food Safety (Q&FS) teams, ensuring follow-through and closure via systems like NEXUS.
• Coordinate schedules and material statuses with external warehouses and monitor production plan changes on a shift basis.
• Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for inbound/outbound operations.
• Manage team coordination across shifts to enable smooth material and finished goods (FG) flow.
• Assign tasks to operators and handlers regarding inbound, outbound, and internal material movements.
• Monitor inventory discrepancies and escalate deviations to appropriate supervisors.
• Utilize PDLS for daily movements and enforce First-In-First-Out (FIFO) practices for raw and finished goods, including pallet management.
• Reconcile physical stock with SAP system data, execute periodic inventories, and partake in reporting and period closing activities.
• Prepare weekly NQC reports and participate in traceability exercises as required.
• Resolve SAP system errors daily and ensure effective issue escalation through FMOS cycles.
• Attend shift handovers and communicate with contractors and quality control teams (CP0/CP2), escalating deviations.
• Contribute to problem-solving meetings focused on materials management and warehouse operations.
• Guarantee proper segregation and disposal of waste per safety guidelines.
• Supervise truck loading/unloading and ensure accurate, timely dispatch of finished goods.
• Maintain meticulous records of material movements, inventory levels, and safety inspections, preparing reports for management and compliance.
• Collaborate closely with departments such as logistics, production, and quality control to facilitate seamless material flow.
• Manage assigned consumables, promoting usage reduction and supporting sustainability initiatives.
• Engage in continuous improvement activities, including Kaizen events and manufacturer safety excellence (MSE) workshops.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Minimum education: GCSE level or equivalent.
• Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
• Previous experience in FMCG or factory operations is advantageous.
• Familiarity with SAP and PDLS systems preferred; ability to troubleshoot system faults is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively within a shift team of around 15 associates, contributing to overall performance targets.
• Responsible for maintaining safety, quality, and accurate handover communication.
