Position Overview

We are seeking a Master Cutter to join a tailoring workshop in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role involves managing all fabric cutting and pattern-making processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency aligned with design guidelines. As a key contributor, the Master Cutter plays a vital role in converting design ideas into quality garments by developing precise patterns, maximizing fabric utilization, and supporting the tailoring team to produce superior finished products.

Location and Relocation

This opportunity is based in Abu Dhabi. The employer will handle work visa applications and provide relocation assistance for candidates not currently residing locally.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent in tailoring or related discipline
• Formal education or training in garment construction, pattern-making, or fashion design is beneficial

Experience and Expertise

• Minimum 7 years of tailoring experience, including at least 3 years in a senior Master Cutter or equivalent position
• Advanced skills in pattern making, garment construction, and fabric cutting methods
• Comprehensive understanding of different fabric types and appropriate handling techniques
• Ability to interpret and accurately translate design concepts into patterns
• Meticulous attention to details and measurement precision
• Creative insight into fashion trends and garment structure
• Proficiency in English communication; Arabic language skills are a plus
• Effective time management to meet production deadlines
• Team-oriented approach with experience leading and mentoring tailoring staff

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze design briefs in collaboration with designers or Head Tailor to craft patterns
• Create, modify, and finalize master patterns for multiple garment sizes
• Precisely mark fabric to optimize material usage and minimize waste
• Cut fabric pieces accurately employing proper tools and techniques
• Transform design concepts into viable garment components detailing pleats, pockets, buttons, and seams
• Supervise sewing processes to assure product quality
• Offer guidance and training to tailors on sewing techniques and construction principles
• Ensure all products comply with quality and design standards
• Maintain an organized workflow consistent with production schedules
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
