Role Summary

The Mason is tasked with executing civil repair, restoration, and finishing activities that uphold the structural integrity, usability, and aesthetic quality of designated buildings. The scope of work involves masonry, plastering, tiling, concrete work, waterproofing, paving, and minor renovation to meet quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct repairs on cracks, plaster, blockwork, concrete surfaces, flooring, kerbstones, and pavements.
• Install and refurbish tiles and perform grouting with attention to quality finishing.
• Execute minor waterproofing measures to safeguard building structures from moisture.
• Prepare surfaces thoroughly for painting and other finishes.
• Assist with minor renovations across different properties as required.
• Maintain tools and equipment assigned to ensure they remain in good condition.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines rigorously during task execution.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a recognized trade certificate in masonry or civil works.
• At least three years of experience in masonry-related tasks.

Technical Competencies

• Proficiency in masonry, tiling, and concrete repair techniques.
• Sound knowledge of waterproofing methods, plastering, and finishing procedures.
• Attention to detail with accuracy in alignment and material finishing.

Performance Metrics

• Quality of workmanship, ensuring precise alignments and durable, visually consistent repairs.
• Timely completion of assigned duties and civil work projects.
• Reduction in rework resulting from defects or errors on completed tasks.
• Efficient use of materials such as cement, tiles, grout, and waterproofing products to minimize waste.
• Maintaining cleanliness and dust control on work sites during and post-repair activities.
