Team Overview

The Market Analysis team offers prompt and insightful market intelligence and commentary to support IG's clients, media visibility, and commercial strategies. The team melds extensive financial market knowledge with content creation and leadership to establish IG as a trusted leader in global financial markets.

Role Summary

As a Market Analyst at IG Group, you will deliver expert commentary across key asset classes such as equities, forex, indices, and commodities. You will act as both a market expert and brand ambassador by creating top-tier market content, contributing to media interactions, and providing actionable insights that inform client interactions, product development, and strategic business decisions. Collaboration with content, social media, product, and trading teams is essential to reinforcing IG’s reputation for market intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide prompt and insightful market analysis and commentary on equities, forex, indices, and commodities, highlighting significant macroeconomic, geopolitical, and corporate events.
• Create detailed daily briefings, market outlook reports, thought leadership pieces, and client communication materials.
• Represent IG in external media and serve as a credible spokesperson on financial markets.
• Collaborate with Content and Social Media teams to produce engaging, varied content that stimulates client interaction and increases brand visibility.
• Track competitor actions, evaluate content effectiveness, and deliver market insights to support marketing and audience expansion initiatives.
• Work closely with Product, Trading, and other business units to transform market developments into strategic commercial insights and suggestions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Proven background in financial market analysis, market commentary, financial journalism, research, or content production.
• In-depth knowledge of global financial markets with expertise across major asset classes including equities, forex, indices, and commodities.
• Excellent communication skills capable of articulating complex market dynamics clearly to diverse investor audiences.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally with commercial, product, trading, or marketing teams to leverage market intelligence supporting business goals.
• Demonstrated ability in stakeholder management and confident media engagement.
• Leadership experience in mentoring or managing analysts and content creators is a plus.
• Fluency in English is compulsory; capabilities in Cantonese and Mandarin are advantageous.
