Job description
About the Role
SimForge seeks a Mapping Analyst to contribute to the SimScene team by developing, reviewing, and managing detailed digital maps intended for simulation and training applications in Physical AI scenarios. This full-time remote position is based in Panaji, Goa.
Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, and upkeep road network maps utilizing specialized mapping software.
- Evaluate map datasets for precision, thoroughness, and coherence.
- Participate in projects related to creating base and navigation maps.
- Analyze satellite, aerial, LiDAR, and other geospatial imagery and data.
- Add and revise road features including attributes, lane-level data, intersections, traffic regulations, and navigational components.
- Confirm the accuracy of map elements such as road layout, speed limits, lane connections, signage, and signals.
- Conduct quality assurance procedures and address map discrepancies found during internal audits.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality assurance, and engineering teams to uphold mapping standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or Remote Sensing fields.
- Foundational knowledge of road infrastructure, transport systems, and mapping data architectures.
- Logical reasoning capabilities enhanced by analytical thought processes.
- Meticulous attention to detail paired with strong problem-solving skills.
- Competency in interpreting various geospatial datasets including aerial and satellite imagery.
- Familiarity with traffic signage, signals, lane markings, and traffic regulations.
- Experience using GIS mapping software such as QGIS and ArcGIS.
- Basic insight into data validation and quality assessment of mapping information.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and able to perform data analysis tasks.
