Job description
Overview
We seek a Manufacturing Test Software Engineer to join our team in Singapore, contributing to the development of reliable and scalable test software solutions for HP manufacturing processes. This role supports new product introductions and ongoing production efforts to ensure high-quality products and efficient factory operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product development and factory teams to create and maintain manufacturing test software enhancing product quality and manufacturability.
- Design, implement, and validate test software covering mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, and system requirements for new and existing products.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to assure readiness, resolve issues, and support project timelines in manufacturing environments.
- Develop reliable and cost-effective manufacturing test packages including validation and delivery phases.
- Represent the manufacturing test team during project meetings, technical reviews, and problem-solving discussions.
- Provide training, documentation, and technical assistance to internal and external users.
- Enhance test software robustness and aid factory and quality teams in diagnosing and troubleshooting production challenges.
- Analyze failure data to identify root causes, suggesting improvements in product design, test coverage, and manufacturing quality.
- Optimize testing processes to increase throughput, shorten test cycles, and boost factory productivity.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrated interest or experience in software development, test automation, embedded systems, firmware, image processing, and AI/ML applications.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, VB, C#, or similar tools.
- Experience with data analysis, software testing methodologies, debugging, test plan execution, and automation tools.
- Exposure to Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts and frameworks is advantageous.
- Able to interpret software, hardware, and system requirements and translate them into efficient test software solutions.
- Adaptability to fast-paced work environments with changing requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication skills in English and local languages to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Scope and Impact
- Contributes to maintaining product quality, manufacturing readiness, adherence to delivery timelines, and factory efficiency.
- Works in close partnership with engineering leaders, architects, product development groups, factory personnel, and external collaborators.
- Supports timely resolution of technical challenges and continuous enhancements in manufacturing test procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent fields.
- 3 to 5 years of applicable experience preferred.
- Open to engineers with strong programming fundamentals and interests in test automation, embedded systems, image processing, or AI/ML technologies.
Additional Information
- Job Type: Full-time, onsite in Singapore.
- Work Schedule: Standard full-time hours without shift premium.
- Travel Requirement: Approximately 25% travel.
