Job Overview

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician role involves maintaining smooth operation of production equipment within a high-volume setting, including SMT, clean room, or packaging environments. This position operates on a shift basis, including days, nights, and weekends, with 12-hour shifts and offers a competitive base salary enhanced by shift allowances and benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain production machinery to optimize output, yield, and quality while ensuring adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
• Diagnose and resolve production line issues through root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques to promptly repair and optimize equipment.
• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance activities.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to manage and communicate operational challenges.
• Document work accurately following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency and operational excellence.
• Support commissioning of new production equipment.
• Ensure sufficient inventory of spare parts is maintained.
• Provide training to new manufacturing technicians as necessary.
• Demonstrate flexibility by traveling for assessments, site visits, or training related to new equipment.
• Maintain compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Adhere to health and safety legislation and regulations at all times.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• NFQ Level 6 qualification in disciplines such as Technology, Mechanical, Automation Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics; alternatively, qualified trades personnel with relevant industrial experience may be considered.
• Experience working with high-volume automation systems, robotics, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• Familiarity with process capability assessments.
• Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Gauge Repeatability & Reproducibility (GR&R).
• Practical experience performing Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and Installation, Operation, and Performance Qualification (IOPQ).
• Background in regulated manufacturing environments.
• Hands-on expertise in pneumatics, electrical systems, hydraulics, machine vision systems, and workshop machining.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing operations.
