Job description
About Evolito
Evolito is dedicated to accelerating the adoption of electric propulsion within the aerospace sector to promote a net-zero future. Our goal is to revolutionize personal transportation and improve urban environments with clean, quiet air travel. We design and produce advanced, lightweight, high-power, high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for various aerospace sectors, including eVTOL, UAVs, and general aviation. Our expertise also extends to custom high-integrity battery systems tailored for aerospace and defense applications. We are currently undergoing rapid growth with an ambitious expansion planned over the next 12 to 18 months.
Role Overview
As a Manufacturing Engineer on our Manufacturing Engineering Team, you will primarily focus on motor controller and harness products. Your responsibility will be to develop, validate, enhance, and maintain manufacturing processes, equipment, and related documentation to ensure the safe, reliable, and scalable production of our cutting-edge products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and implement manufacturing facilities and workflows for motor control unit and harness assembly and testing.
- Lead the specification, procurement, commissioning, and Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT) of equipment.
- Participate in design reviews by providing feedback on manufacturing feasibility for new product designs.
- Develop and manage Manufacturing Bills of Materials (MBOMs), process flows, routings, work instructions, and all technical documentation using digital tools to maintain accuracy and accessibility.
- Support engineering trials, pilot builds, and production line modifications; collaborate with production, quality, and planning teams to resolve constraints and ensure seamless handover.
- Work alongside Tooling Engineers and suppliers to ensure the timely delivery and validation of production tooling.
- Engage actively in daily stand-ups, Material Review Boards, and cross-functional meetings, providing updates and identifying risks.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes and equipment for compliance with safety protocols and operational risk management.
- Conduct advanced quality planning like PFMEA, Control Plans, virtual builds, and Production Readiness Reviews; validate processes using data-driven approaches.
- Contribute to FRACAS by applying structured problem-solving methods to identify root causes and execute corrective measures.
- Provide accurate manufacturing costings and feasibility analyses to support early project proposals.
- Pursue personal growth through feedback, training, and collaborative development activities.
- Promote a collaborative team atmosphere by sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and constructive cross-departmental cooperation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering or relevant HNC/HND with significant experience.
- Proven track record in process design and optimization with emphasis on aerospace manufacturing and safety-critical components.
- Detail-focused mindset committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Solid understanding of Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) concepts applied early in product development.
- Familiarity with manufacturing automation and industrial equipment related to electromechanical assembly processes such as potting, crimping, electrical and leak testing.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and aerospace standards including ISO9001, AS9100, and AS9145.
- Competency with ERP/MRP systems like SAP and PLM tools such as Siemens Teamcenter and Opcenter MES.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to generate precise technical documentation and confidently present to cross-functional teams.
- Flexible attitude and capability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel if necessary.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in establishing and supervising ESD controls within a production setting.
- Knowledge or certification related to IPC WHMA-A-620 standards for cable and wire harness assemblies.
