Job description
Role Overview
The Manual Tester plays a vital role in ensuring the quality of software by thoroughly executing test cases, detecting defects, and confirming that applications fulfill functional, usability, and performance standards. This hands-on position involves testing across various platforms including web, mobile, and enterprise systems to guarantee a seamless user experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements and develop comprehensive test plans, scenarios, and cases.
- Perform functional testing by manually verifying software features, workflows, and business logic.
- Identify and record bugs with detailed reproduction steps, screenshots, and appropriate severity levels.
- Conduct regression tests on affected systems post-defect resolutions to ensure system integrity.
- Support user acceptance testing by collaborating with business stakeholders, validating complete end-to-end processes.
- Maintain and update test case repositories, compile test results, and generate defect documentation.
- Coordinate closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to clarify requirements and solve issues.
Skills and Tools
- Proficiency in functional testing, regression testing, exploratory testing, and UAT.
- Experience using tools such as JIRA and Azure DevOps for issue tracking and test management.
- Fundamental understanding of SQL, API testing principles, and web application functionality.
- Strong soft skills including meticulous attention to detail, analytical mindset, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities.
