Job description
Overview
This role involves leading and managing tax technology initiatives to enhance tax compliance, reporting, and automation processes within the organization. The individual will stay informed on emerging tax technology trends and drive the implementation of effective digital solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Keep abreast of current trends in tax technology including automation tools, ERP tax modules, tax engines, and intelligent applications like RPA and AI/ML, and recommend optimized solutions for tax compliance and reporting.
- Lead and manage tax technology projects ensuring their timely completion and alignment with organizational objectives, collaborating with developers, engineers, and data analysts to translate tax needs into technical implementations.
- Evaluate and select appropriate third-party tax technology vendors and software, supporting procurement, integration, and deployment processes.
- Facilitate cooperation between tax, IT, and finance departments to advance digital tax transformations by sharing experiences from diverse tax jurisdictions and bridging communication gaps.
- Design and deliver persuasive proposals and presentations to clients highlighting the value of tax technology transformations; lead and engage actively in pitch meetings.
- Administer tax technology engagements from beginning to end, assigning tasks, tracking progress, and managing stakeholder expectations, incorporating insights from multiple tax jurisdictions.
- Identify and implement automation and process improvement opportunities within tax workflows, using RPA, AI, and other tools to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Handle extensive datasets to generate data-driven insights and reports that support tax planning and informed decision-making, leveraging knowledge from various tax regions.
- Ensure all tax technology solutions comply with relevant local and global tax regulations, while addressing technology-related risks in tax procedures.
- Provide training and share expertise on tax technology trends and best practices within internal teams and clients; participate in industry events and contribute thought leadership content.
Additional Information
This position is based in Dubai and requires full-time onsite presence. The role demands extensive collaboration across tax, IT, and finance sectors, leadership in project management, and high adaptability to regulatory compliance matters.
