About the Tax Solutions Centre

The Tax Solutions Centre (TSC) at PwC Ireland serves as the firm's expertise hub for all corporate tax technical matters, acting as the primary knowledge repository. It operates as an innovation center, focused on identifying and creating new strategies to address emerging and existing tax challenges.

Team and Client Focus

Comprising over 10 professionals from varied backgrounds, the TSC supports colleagues in three main corporate tax areas: Domestic and International Outbound, Financial Services, and Foreign Direct Investment. The team advises on key corporate tax trends and crafts solutions for complex technical scenarios. Its client base spans multiple sectors including digital, pharmaceuticals, retail, manufacturing, asset management, banking, aviation, construction, and real estate.

Role Overview

This position as a Tax Manager within the TSC offers the chance to enhance your professional profile within and beyond PwC's tax practice. You will engage with pioneering corporate tax topics influencing business strategies, collaborate on high-profile assignments for blue-chip clients, and deepen your understanding of client tax matters. Opportunities also include handling cases before Ireland's Tax Appeals Commission and higher courts, attending relevant industry events, and networking with senior tax partners and directors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the TSC team to resolve complex corporate tax inquiries and design client-specific solutions.
  • Conduct detailed research on tax technical issues and produce comprehensive documentation.
  • Address issues connected to Pillar Two tax regulations and their implementation in client contexts.
  • Support preparation of technical papers and standardized wording templates for client advisories.
  • Track domestic and international corporate tax developments, with particular focus on Pillar Two readiness over the coming 6-12 months, including disseminating insights within the tax practice.
  • Analyze court rulings and Tax Appeals Commission decisions, drafting informative internal releases.
  • Assist in organizing client briefings and webcasts, preparing agendas and technical content.
  • Contribute content for publications such as the Irish Tax Review and the PwC Ireland website.
  • Help teams with submissions for official consultations and relevant tax committees.

Qualification and Skills

  • Must hold AITI/CTA qualification.
  • Strong foundation in tax knowledge with sound technical capabilities.
  • Demonstrates ownership and accountability in work.
  • Effective team player capable of following guidance.
  • Good organizational aptitude and planning ability.
  • Competent in managing priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
