Role Overview
The position is for a Specialist Sales Manager located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, reporting directly to the SME Cluster Lead. This role demands a strong consultative sales approach, focusing on understanding client requirements, promoting SME card and payment solutions, and facilitating clients’ translation of opportunities into tangible business results.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead SME sales growth by spotting client opportunities, devising relevant propositions, and leveraging in-depth knowledge of cards and payments to offer solutions that enhance client revenue, profit, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage and cultivate a robust sales pipeline by engaging clients with a consultative and hands-on method, including in-person meetings, needs assessments, opportunity analysis, and solution positioning across financial and non-financial institution partners.
- Originate, identify, and convert new business prospects while developing SME ecosystem initiatives and driving the execution of contracted deals to produce measurable revenue growth.
- Support the achievement of SME profit and loss goals for key accounts and across Saudi Arabia, aligning with regional sales strategies and business objectives.
- Discover new product, proposition, and business innovation chances within the SME payments segment.
- Serve as the client-facing expert on SME cards and payment solutions, collaborating closely with customers and internal teams to diagnose needs, shape recommendations, guide solution design, and enable execution alongside sales, product, and market units.
- This is an individual contributor role without direct personnel management responsibilities, reliant on effective client engagement, cross-team cooperation, and disciplined sales delivery.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated expertise in cards, commercial payments, issuing propositions, and related solutions, with proven sales and business development success within the SME segment.
- Progressive industry experience with a solid track record in payments, including both commercial and consumer payment systems.
- Strong strategic and consultative skills enabling assessment of client needs, translation of market insights into actionable strategies, and influencing senior-level decision-making.
- Experience in consulting, solution selling, or advisory-driven client management that involves direct client interaction, on-site engagement, opportunity shaping, and delivering business value.
- Excellent negotiation and influencing capabilities to achieve results through stakeholders and partners without direct reporting lines.
- Ability to lead efforts without direct authority, coordinating with account teams, product experts, and partners to advance business opportunities and client success.
- Highly action-oriented, disciplined, and results-focused with a commitment to meet sales targets and commercial goals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to promptly identify and address issues independently or through proper escalation channels.
- Superior interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skills, with executive presence to engage senior leaders, lead strategic discussions, and represent Mastercard credibly to clients.
Corporate Security Responsibilities
- Adhere to Mastercard’s security policies and practices regarding access to company assets, information, and networks.
- Safeguard the confidentiality and integrity of information accessed during work.
- Report any suspected information security breaches promptly.
- Complete all mandatory security trainings as per Mastercard’s guidelines.
