Mission and Culture

Palo Alto Networks is dedicated to safeguarding the digital way of life by combining innovation with impactful technology. We foster an inclusive environment where every voice is valued and innovative ideas thrive. Our culture encourages accountability, trust, and collaboration across global hybrid teams.

About Chronosphere and Role

Chronosphere, a subsidiary of Palo Alto Networks, delivers an observability platform designed for modern containerized environments. It helps customers streamline data insights, reduce complexity, and cut costs by up to 84%, saving developers significant time. Our platform serves esteemed clients like DoorDash, Affirm, and Zillow.

This role focuses on building AI Observability and Evaluation functionalities within Chronosphere’s platform. The goal is to assist developers in measuring and improving the accuracy, effectiveness, performance, and safety of AI models, agents, and retrieval-augmented generation applications. The team you will lead translates complex telemetry data into actionable insights so customers can safely and reliably deploy AI solutions at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with product management to understand customer requirements, establish the roadmap, and ensure timely execution. You will help balance customer needs with technical feasibility.
  • Manage a consistent delivery rhythm while allocating efforts between major investments and routine customer requests.
  • Lead architectural and technical design decisions to shape scalable backend systems and developer workflows.
  • Recruit, onboard, and mentor engineers, coaching their professional growth and evolving team processes.
  • Oversee production system health metrics like SLOs and SLAs, ensuring reliability and prompt issue resolution.
  • Coordinate with security and compliance teams on audits and customer commitments.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams.
  • Strong empathy for both customers and technical teams to facilitate effective collaboration and performance.
  • Robust understanding of both product vision and technical execution.
  • Experience in enterprise software development and knowledge of end-user expectations.
  • Proven ability to establish operational norms, team dynamics, and cross-team interfaces.
  • Partnership skills with product managers for roadmap planning that balances trade-offs and aligns with corporate strategy.
  • Technical fluency to analyze design risks, critical system components, and engineering trade-offs—preferably with prior infrastructure software development experience.
  • Demonstrated success in developing engineers’ careers, setting clear expectations, and holding teams accountable.
  • Experience in recruiting and hiring diverse teams, actively managing the hiring process from candidate attraction to retention.

We celebrate diversity and maintain equal employment opportunities regardless of any protected characteristic. We provide reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities. Immigration sponsorship is not offered for this position.
