Role Overview

The Senior Manager for AI & Data is responsible for leading the end-to-end design and execution of complex AI and Generative AI solutions across various sectors. The role demands a blend of technical and functional expertise with hands-on capabilities in architecture, AI product development, and full lifecycle delivery—from initial problem definition through deployment and realization of business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive AI/GenAI solution design, including applications built on large language models such as copilots, document intelligence platforms, and chatbots.
• Create architectures for predictive/prescriptive analytics and recommendation engines.
• Translate business challenges into actionable AI architectures addressing data ingestion, model evaluation, API integrations, and performance and security requirements.
• Direct AI product strategy and roadmaps with use case prioritization, MVP development, success metrics definition, and application adoption tracking.
• Advise on model, platform, and accelerator strategies, including build, buy, or partner decisions to ensure production-ready AI deployments instead of proof-of-concept solutions.
• Oversee the complete AI project lifecycle covering discovery, feasibility analysis, data readiness assessment, model development, deployment, and iterative optimization.
• Establish best practices for model lifecycle management, testing, quality assurance, monitoring, and retraining.
• Collaborate closely with client technology teams to facilitate smooth solution handover and sustainable operations, including change management guidance.
• Proactively identify project risks and dependencies and communicate concerns during implementation.
• Engage directly with clients to clarify technical trade-offs and design decisions in understandable business terms.
• Act as the leading technical expert for AI projects, reviewing design and delivery outputs for quality assurance.
• Mentor data scientists, ML engineers, and architects to elevate team capabilities whenever applicable.
• Architect AI solutions on major cloud platforms including Azure (Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Azure ML), AWS (Sagemaker, Bedrock), and GCP (Vertex AI) where relevant.
• Ensure solutions align with enterprise security and architectural standards, incorporating Middle East data sovereignty regulations.

Required Experience and Skills

• 9 to 14+ years of professional experience in data, analytics, or AI roles with direct delivery responsibilities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of machine learning principles, generative AI, and large language model architectures.
• Strong understanding of data engineering necessary to support AI workloads.
• Demonstrated success in deploying scalable, production-grade AI solutions beyond proofs of concept.
• Hands-on exposure to LLM orchestration frameworks, prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation methods.
• Expertise in evaluating AI models for performance, bias, and robustness, alongside practical experience with AI governance, risk management, and ethical AI principles.
• Experience in client-facing roles, balancing technical rigor with commercial and project delivery demands.
• Excellent communication skills targeting both technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Preferred experience with at least one major cloud platform and the ability to design secure, scalable AI architectures.
