Job description
Role Overview
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will spearhead manufacturing engineering efforts to ensure production processes are safe, efficient, and yield high-quality output. This position focuses on driving process enhancements, boosting productivity, and reducing costs while maintaining adherence to quality and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to develop and refine manufacturing processes.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and quality enhancement; enforce best practices and comply with safety and quality protocols.
- Manage and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers, technicians, and operational staff by delegating responsibilities, setting objectives, and fostering an innovative and cooperative team culture.
- Partner with product design groups to facilitate new product introduction, evaluating design feasibility, scalability, and manufacturability while supporting continuous improvement throughout product development and lifecycle.
- Assess current manufacturing equipment, recommending upgrades or replacements; coordinate maintenance to maximize operational efficiency.
- Design and oversee quality control processes; monitor production metrics and intervene as necessary to ensure compliance with standards such as ISO and Six Sigma.
- Conduct production cost analysis, including materials and labor, prepare budgets, and pursue cost optimization opportunities in coordination with procurement and supply chain teams.
- Coordinate with production, supply chain, and logistics departments to resolve bottlenecks, supply challenges, and ensure alignment across teams.
- Support new business efforts and new product development processes (including ADP, PDP), as well as prototype, design validation (DV), and production validation (PV) builds.
- Lead the development and implementation of new manufacturing lines and processes.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- At least five years of experience in manufacturing engineering leadership roles.
- Deep knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, process optimization techniques, and quality management systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software, statistical analysis tools, and project management methodologies.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving capabilities.
