- Oversee design, implementation, and deployment of agentic AI systems, including retrieval mechanisms, tool integration, orchestration, and development of robust evaluation frameworks to ensure reliability and safety in production.
- Work collaboratively across departments with MLOps, product management, operations, and data science teams to explore new tools and AI-driven feature opportunities for Clio's customers.
- Operate within an agile development environment alongside ML engineers, MLOps, and full-stack developers on diverse initiatives.
- Engage in continuous learning to stay at the forefront of machine learning and infrastructure advancements in a rapidly evolving domain.
- Participate in a variety of projects, coordinating efforts with engineering teams across multiple international offices.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback within your team and company-wide.
- Collaborate broadly within Clio to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems, delivering solutions spanning multiple technical areas.
- Foster a culture of ongoing learning and mentorship by offering and receiving constructive feedback to support professional growth.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience leading high-performing technical teams.
- Skilled in evaluating diverse ML and LLM solutions, vendors, and quick prototype development to assess feasibility.
- Deep knowledge of agentic AI systems, large language models, and emerging technology trends within this field.
- Practical experience in building agentic workflows such as tool-calling agents, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, prompt engineering, and scalable agent behavior assessment.
- Experience fine-tuning pretrained foundational models or training language models from scratch.
- Strong ability in processing and cleaning complex unstructured datasets for model training and application.
- Quick adaptability to new technologies and effectiveness in dynamic, distributed team environments serving diverse customers.
- Demonstrated mentorship success within software development, preferably utilizing Agile methodologies in large-scale SaaS contexts.
- Broad technical expertise enabling support and solution of complex challenges faced by the team.
- Record of notable past projects highlighting successes and learned lessons.
- Excellent communication skills facilitating trust-building with colleagues and clients.

- Flexible vacation policy encouraging a minimum of 20 days off annually.
- An annual counseling benefit worth $2,000.
- Retirement savings plan (RRSP) matching and contributions to education savings plans (RESP).
- Long-term service recognition program with milestones at 3, 5, 7, and 10 years.
