About the Role
Join MetLife’s Global Security team as the Manager of Information Security focusing on Identity and Access Management (IAM) for the EMEA region. In this crucial position, you will oversee IAM operations across multiple countries, implement global security standards, and collaborate with various teams to ensure secure and compliant access management. This role demands leadership in managing daily IAM activities, facilitating large-scale projects, and driving continuous improvement to safeguard company, customer, and colleague information.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate IAM operations throughout the EMEA region.
- Ensure adherence to global security standards, policies, and IAM control measures within diverse business units and countries.
- Lead execution and regional alignment of global IAM projects and initiatives.
- Continuously enhance IAM processes such as identity governance, access permissions management, authentication protocols, privileged access, and periodic access reviews.
- Collaborate with application owners, infrastructure teams, IT departments, risk, compliance, and audit teams to guarantee effective access controls.
- Identify and address any weaknesses or security gaps in access control frameworks.
- Support audit, compliance, and risk management activities related to access controls, including evidence collection and remediation.
- Manage governance of access reviews, role-based access controls (RBAC), segregation of duties (SoD), and privileged account administration.
- Lead and mentor teams delivering IAM services within a complex regional environment.
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships to influence security outcomes across global and regional teams.
- Monitor progress, track deliverables, escalate risks, and ensure accountability through structured governance.
- Leverage approved AI technologies to enhance operational effectiveness, reporting, analysis, and decision-making while maintaining appropriate oversight.
Required Experience and Skills
- Minimum seven years’ experience in Information Security, IT Risk, IAM, or related technical roles, especially in financial services or regulated sectors.
- Deep knowledge of IAM operating models, lifecycle management, access governance including certification, RBAC, SoD, and privileged access.
- Familiarity with IAM technologies such as MFA, SSO, federation protocols (OIDC, SAML), LDAP, Active Directory, Azure AD / Entra ID, Ping Identity, SiteMinder, SailPoint, or CyberArk.
- Experience coordinating IAM activities across multiple countries or business units in a regional or matrix global setup.
- Ability to convert security standards and regulatory requirements into operational controls and remediation actions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills suitable for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in supporting risk management, audit, compliance, and control assurance within access management.
- Excellent English proficiency; additional languages relevant to the region are a plus.
- Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISM, CISA, Certified Identity and Access Manager, or equivalent IAM/security credentials.

- Proven leadership experience managing teams responsible for security services at a regional scale.
- Effective stakeholder management and influencing skills across global and local teams.
- Strong execution focus with ability to manage competing priorities, track commitments, escalate issues, and drive results.
- Ability to act independently with sound judgment in a fast-paced and matrixed environment.
AI Competency
- Experienced in utilizing authorized AI tools to boost team productivity and operational processes while ensuring quality and compliance.
- Capability to promote responsible AI tool adoption in IAM workflows, identifying efficiency gains and assuring output accuracy and relevance.
- Understanding of AI’s role in process automation, knowledge management, data analysis, and security operational enhancements.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from €71,900 to €95,800 per annum and may include eligibility for annual short-term incentive bonuses subject to plan terms.
