Where you'll work
Job description
Overview
CFGI is hiring a Manager for its Data & Analytics team within Business Transformation. In this role, you will partner with clients to design, build, and roll out processes and tools that reshape how organizations use data to make decisions. The team focuses on defining data strategies, creating automation, and developing dashboards and predictive analytics solutions that support measurable business outcomes.
What you will do
You will lead client projects from start to finish, work with business and technical stakeholders, and turn business objectives into practical analytics solutions. The role includes shaping project scope, supporting budget creation and tracking, and contributing to internal tools and templates that strengthen the team’s capabilities.
The position calls for someone who can bring a strong accounting or finance background into data-led client solutions. CFGI uses a tool-agnostic approach and may leverage platforms such as Python, Alteryx, Power BI, or Tableau depending on the client need. Strong communication, organization, and project ownership are essential, along with hands-on experience in data analytics project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Convert data analysis into clear, actionable business insights and present findings to clients in a concise way.
- Design and carry out analysis on large datasets, including both structured and unstructured, quantitative and qualitative information.
- Independently own projects, from understanding requirements through execution, and apply appropriate analytics solutions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs and maintain productive internal and client relationships across cross-functional initiatives.
- Support project management efforts for cross-functional work involving accounting, finance, FP&A, modeling, and/or technology implementation.
- Communicate technical concepts in simple language for non-technical audiences while fostering collaboration and client success.
- Manage your own workflow, priorities, and daily task responsibilities.
- Contribute to scope development, budget planning, budget monitoring, and the creation of internal tools and templates.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required; fields such as Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Statistics, or Computer Science are preferred.
- CPA or a similar professional designation is preferred.
- Experience in analytics, ideally in a client-facing environment.
- Strong communication, teamwork, presentation, and project management capabilities.
- Ability to research issues and develop practical ad hoc solutions.
- Advanced Excel ability, including formulas such as VLOOKUP, SUMIF, IF, and INDEX/MATCH.
- At least one core technical area where you are highly proficient, certified, and have used the skill consistently for 2+ years.
- Two or more additional technical strengths across the relevant toolset.
- Solid understanding of relational database concepts, including table structure, joins, and filters.
- Experience working with data analytics tools and solutions in a business transformation setting.
Tools and technical focus
- ETL automation using Alteryx.
- Visualization with Tableau or Microsoft Power BI.
- Programming in Python, with R as an acceptable alternative.
- SQL for data querying, including T-SQL; MySQL is acceptable but less preferred.
- Working knowledge of data architecture, data modeling, solution architecture, workflow automation, and data engineering.
- Exposure to data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks.
- Experience with RDMS environments and database logic.
