Overview
Alef Group, known for pioneering top-tier lifestyle communities and strategic ventures, invites applications for the Manager - Compliance role in Sharjah. This position demands a proactive, driven individual proficient in English and skilled in developing comprehensive compliance protocols to maintain Alef's reputation and regulatory alignment across UAE operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement a compliance framework tailored to UAE regulations and company goals.
- Formulate the yearly compliance agenda outlining priorities, resources, and metrics.
- Set up and manage compliance monitoring and testing procedures for consistent oversight.
- Stay informed on regulatory updates impacting Alef through entities like RERD and SLD.
- Evaluate regulatory changes and enforce necessary adjustments to meet compliance standards.
- Oversee all regulatory declarations, filings, and disclosures.
- Develop and update comprehensive policies, procedures, and internal control standards.
- Deliver compliance policy communications and training company-wide.
- Manage exceptions to policies effectively.
- Perform compliance testing to confirm controls and regulations are upheld.
- Investigate compliance breaches; execute corrective measures to avoid future incidents.
- Conduct due diligence and continued monitoring of third-party partnerships.
- Provide strategic compliance advice to various business units and projects.
- Report on compliance status, emerging risks, and program outcomes to senior leadership.
- Lead detailed compliance investigations and analyze regulatory violations.
- Implement and track remediation actions ensuring thorough resolution.
- Maintain accurate incident records and resolution reports.
- Execute risk-based assessments and monitor vendor and subcontractor compliance with Alef's standards.
- Design assessment frameworks to validate third-party compliance regularly.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) required; Master's (LLM) and/or certifications such as CAMS or CCEP preferred.
- 8 to 10 years in compliance roles within regulated sectors.
- At least 5 years of experience in UAE or GCC, specifically within real estate or construction industries.
- Experience in compliance monitoring and regulatory liaison.
