Role Summary
The Manager of Business Intelligence will oversee the health, capabilities, and growth of ACC’s BI function, ensuring alignment with the organisation’s goals. This role involves creating an environment that enables BI professionals to excel by offering both strategic and technical guidance, connecting teams to meaningful work, and steering capability development to meet projected future demands. Key responsibilities include leading the BI practice’s evolution, enhancing architecture, semantic models, reporting, and visualisation tools, and collaborating closely with Data Engineering and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will be instrumental in transforming reliable data into actionable insights that contribute to the safety and wellbeing of New Zealanders.
Key Qualifications and Attributes
- Proven leadership experience in managing BI or similar technical data teams within large, complex organisations.
- Strong aptitude in mentoring, coaching, and fostering high-performing technical teams.
- Capability to convert strategic plans into solid BI team priorities.
- Expertise in BI architecture, semantic modelling, enterprise reporting, and data visualisation.
- Forward-thinking approach to skills and capability growth.
- Ability to inspire clarity and ownership among technical professionals.
- Excellent ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various technical and non-technical levels.
- Experience working alongside Data Engineering and Architecture in integrated environments.
- Commitment to continuous improvement of BI tools, standards, and processes.
- Understanding and leadership in applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
- Must have legal work rights in New Zealand at application time.

Compensation and Benefits
The offered salary ranges from $138,301 to $178,978 annually, depending on experience. ACC provides a thorough benefits package including a favorable superannuation scheme with a 9% employer contribution without mandatory employee contributions and optional insurances.
