Overview
The Sherwin-Williams Management & Sales Training Program is an entry-level, accelerated opportunity crafted to prepare participants for a Store Management career within 18 to 24 months. The company embraces a promote-from-within approach, allowing trainees to advance into Assistant Store Manager roles following the successful completion of an initial 8-week training period. The role involves working approximately 40 hours per week, which may include evening and weekend shifts.
Program Details
Trainees will collaborate closely with store management to oversee a business generating over a million dollars in revenue. The role involves leadership responsibilities and contributing to the store’s strategy and development. Participants will gain comprehensive knowledge of operations, client interactions, and internal strategies, positioning them to significantly impact the team's success. The focus will be on expanding the company’s market share by serving large commercial customers such as painting contractors, purchasing agents, and manufacturers.

Responsibilities
- Complete all components of the designated training program
- Support the implementation of business strategies aimed at increasing sales and profitability
- Deliver exceptional customer service to maintain high satisfaction levels
- Maintain thorough product knowledge to provide accurate recommendations
- Develop and nurture relationships with both wholesale and retail customers
- Manage store administrative functions
- Ensure compliance with company policies relating to safety, loss prevention, and security
- Uphold store standards, including visual merchandising and promotional display maintenance
- Contribute to employee training, development, performance oversight, and if needed, corrective measures
- Address and resolve customer and employee complaints effectively
- Collaborate with Store Manager on external sales visits to enhance market share
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all store areas including storefront, office, warehouse, and surroundings
- Accurately maintain work order records and product formulas
- Retrieve appropriate products from sales floor or warehouse as needed
- Perform product tinting and mixing to meet customer specifications
- Stock shelves and arrange product displays
- Clean store equipment regularly
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Legal authorization to work in Jamaica without the need for future work visa sponsorship
- Possession of at least a bachelor's degree prior to program commencement
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation
- If currently employed within Sherwin-Williams, must have received a minimum "meets expectations" rating on the last performance appraisal
- If internal candidate, completion of all required HR Cloud eLearning courses for current position
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum one year experience in retail, sales, or customer service roles
- At least one year of leadership or supervisory experience
- Background in team-oriented environments through professional or extracurricular activities or military service
- Prior experience selling paint or related products
- Experience with timekeeping or customer relationship management (CRM) systems
- Willingness to relocate for future career opportunities
- Proficiency in reading, writing, understanding, and communicating in multiple languages
