Management Accountant

Role Overview

We are seeking a qualified chartered accountant to join Euro Mechanical in Abu Dhabi as a Management Accountant. This crucial finance role involves partnering closely with operations teams to translate financial data into actionable insights that guide business decisions within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and nurture strong partnerships between Finance and Operations teams within designated Business Unit(s).
• Prepare monthly management accounts compliant with IFRS, local accounting standards, tax rules, and internal policies, and present these to relevant stakeholders.
• Conduct gross margin analyses, monitor budget variances, and identify potential financial risks or opportunities promptly.
• Utilize key performance indicators to clearly communicate Business Unit performance.
• Lead the preparation of quarterly and ad hoc forecasts, as well as the annual budgeting process with thorough analytical support.
• Assess investment opportunities and support decisions regarding hiring versus buying through comprehensive financial and commercial evaluation.
• Apply expert knowledge of import/export operations including documentation and Incoterms, analyzing their financial and commercial effects.
• Manage weekly cash flow reviews of receivables and payables; coordinate customer collection meetings and drive resolution of outstanding balances.
• Report regularly on In-Country Value (ICV) metrics, including improvement plans, current scores, and retention figures.
• Support project accounting duties and profitability assessments.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations aligned with financial reporting schedules.
• Maintain updated process documentation and controls, ensuring compliance with internal controls, governance, and best finance practices.
• Review and authorize journals and sales invoices generated by the team.
• Assist with periodic inventory and fixed asset counts, some of which may occur outside regular hours.

Candidate Profile

• Possession of a widely recognized chartered accounting qualification.
• A minimum of three years' experience in operational finance, preferably within the Energy or Construction sectors.
• Experience with project accounting is advantageous.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Office Suite.
• Working knowledge of Dynamics 365 is considered beneficial.
• Possesses an analytical and problem-solving approach with excellent organizational skills.
