Job description
Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician role involves supporting the Maintenance Department by performing diverse tasks aimed at ensuring all Fair Oaks Farms facilities, equipment, and resources remain in optimal working condition. The technician will engage in various environments and apply multiple skill sets according to department needs.
Responsibilities
- Support equipment and facility upkeep by performing cleaning, functionality checks, and preventive maintenance.
- Follow and embody company standards and service expectations, serving as a role model.
- Contribute ideas to reduce utility expenses, repair costs, and maintenance overhead.
- Maintain a safe environment for both employees and guests to prevent injuries and accidents.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, practices, and safety requirements.
- Uphold the appearance and condition of the campus aligned with Fair Oaks Farms’ quality standards.
- Execute any additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Demonstrate courteous behavior, decent manners, and maintain a neat and clean presentation.
- Possess effective communication skills for collaboration with a diverse workforce.
- Physically capable of standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting, and engaging in repetitive manual tasks involving hands and wrists.
- Ability to operate and work safely with hazardous equipment.
- Willingness to maintain open and flexible scheduling availability.
- Capacity to work between 32 to 40 hours weekly.
- Familiar with basic hand tools such as hammers, tape measures, saws, impact drivers, and drills.
- Comfortable working at heights using ladders; must have no fear of heights.
- Capable of lifting heavy objects weighing over 50 pounds.
Experience and Education
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.
- Experience working with ladders, roofs, and elevated platforms.
- Preferably two or more years of related hands-on maintenance or technical experience.
- High school diploma is a minimum educational requirement.
