Maintenance Supervisor

Overview

We are seeking a practical and proactive Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance activities during shifts at our fruit and vegetable processing and cold-press juice manufacturing facility. This role demands ensuring the reliability and readiness of all mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment, minimizing production interruptions, and aiding in setting up new production lines as the company expands its footprint nationwide. The suitable candidate will excel at rapid problem-solving to sustain continuous production under pressure.

Primary Duties

• Manage daily maintenance operations within assigned shifts, ensuring machinery and utilities remain fully operational for production demands.
• Respond promptly to unexpected equipment failures, diagnose issues swiftly, and coordinate repair work to limit downtime.
• Oversee installation, assembly, and commissioning of new machinery and production lines, including mechanical setup and basic electrical connections.
• Maintain and repair hydraulic systems, PLC-controlled machines, motors, pumps, conveyors, and other plant equipment effectively.
• Interpret technical documentation such as machine drawings, hydraulic and electrical circuit diagrams, and equipment manuals to guide maintenance and installation tasks.
• Track and analyze machine performance metrics like uptime, cycle counts, and fault logs to detect recurring faults and organize preventive maintenance.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules aimed at reducing breakdowns and extending equipment longevity.
• Manage inventory of spare parts through monitoring stock levels, planning reorders, and coordinating procurement of essential components.
• Serve as a liaison with vendors and equipment manufacturers to acquire spare parts, technical advice, and upgrades.
• Travel as needed to other factory locations across India to assist with commissioning and maintenance efforts.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, breakdown records, and shift handover reports.
• Provide training and supervision to shift technicians and helpers to ensure safe and effective maintenance practices.
• Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations relevant to food processing environments.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or ITI in Mechanical trade with related practical experience.
• Between 3 and 5 years of direct maintenance experience within manufacturing or processing facilities.
• Experience in the food processing sector is advantageous.

Key Skills and Knowledge

• Proficient knowledge of hydraulic machinery and system maintenance.
• Familiarity with PLC operation and basic troubleshooting techniques.
• Hands-on electrical skills covering wiring and panel connections.
• Experience in commissioning machinery and installing new production lines.
• Ability to read and understand machine design and engineering documentation.
• Competence in inventory control and spare parts management.
• Strong analytical and de-escalation abilities during machinery breakdowns.
• Willingness to work in shift rotations and travel to multiple sites.
