Job Overview
Our client, a prominent supplier of industrial products and services, seeks a Maintenance Store Operator to join a leading pharmaceutical company's site in Limerick. This role involves hands-on management of maintenance stores to ensure efficiency, safety, and availability of essential parts for engineering and production teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary support contact for maintenance, engineering, and production teams, providing responsive and professional store services.
- Receive deliveries, verify quantities and conditions, manage documentation, and promptly store items.
- Issue parts and consumables accurately, maintaining detailed transaction records in the designated system.
- Regularly update stock records via cycle counts, physical stock checks, and thorough investigations of discrepancies.
- Monitor stock levels to predict shortages and initiate replenishment processes promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, clear labeling, and ensure compliance with site health, safety, and environmental regulations in the store.
- Handle returns, repairs, warranties, obsolete stock, and quarantine areas following established procedures.
- Support the use of inventory management solutions such as vending, consignment, and barcode systems.
- Develop strong working relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and customer representatives to quickly resolve issues and prevent future occurrences.
- Utilize data and observations to propose improvements that reduce waste, lower costs, and minimize downtime.
Requirements
- Prior experience or strong interest in roles within stores, warehouses, inventory management, maintenance, or industrial settings.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when handling part numbers, quantities, and documentation.
- A customer-oriented mindset coupled with a calm, strategic approach to problem-solving.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to interact confidently with personnel at all organizational levels.
- Familiarity with stock management software, Microsoft Office, and barcode or scanning devices.
- Commitment to safety, including strict adherence to site rules and processes.
- Organizational skills to manage workload, prioritize urgent tasks, and work independently.
- Knowledge of maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) products, engineering spares, tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), or industrial consumables.
- Experience working with ERP systems, inventory control, or vending technologies.
- Certification for forklift operation or manual handling aligned with site requirements.
- Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies including 5S and lean principles specifically applied to store operations.
