Maintenance Officer

Overview

Palm Lake Care is seeking a reliable Maintenance Officer to join their team at the Mount Warren Park aged care community. This role offers a stable Monday to Friday schedule with industry-leading pay of $42.29 per hour, providing a balanced work-life routine and the chance to contribute to a safe, tidy, and comfortable environment for residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance requests within the aged care facility.
• Conduct patch repairs, minor fixes, basic carpentry, paint touch-ups, and general upkeep of buildings.
• Inspect common areas, resident spaces, grounds, equipment, and plant to maintain safety and presentation.
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance activities.
• Identify and report any hazards or maintenance risks promptly.
• Collaborate with the Service Manager to prioritize and manage ongoing tasks.
• Coordinate with contractors for specialized or licensed work beyond scope.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in handyman duties, general maintenance, building repairs, or related hands-on roles.
• Skilled in completing patch work and minor repairs accurately and safely.
• Proficient and confident in handling basic maintenance tools and equipment.
• Demonstrates reliability, independence, and a proactive attitude.
• Communicates respectfully with elderly residents, their families, visitors, and fellow staff.
• Holds a valid manual C-class driver's license.
• Possesses or is willing to obtain a current National Police Check.
• Certificate III in Workplace Health and Safety preferred but not mandatory.

Work Schedule and Compensation

• Full-time position with set hours: Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
• Hourly pay rate of $42.29.
• No weekend shifts, promoting an excellent work-life balance.
