Located in the Irish midlands, the company employs around 300 staff in a modern, highly skilled, and innovative manufacturing plant. Decotek specializes in designing, developing, and producing premium exterior trim parts for leading automotive brands and is currently experiencing growth.
Role Overview
The Maintenance Manager will lead and oversee all maintenance operations across the facility, focusing on maximizing equipment performance, implementing effective preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring high equipment uptime. This role entails supervision of a diverse team including Toolmakers, Fitters, Welders, Facilities personnel, Maintenance Administration, and Apprentices. It is a full-time position requiring onsite presence.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritize maintenance and repair tasks according to production needs.
- Manage and optimize spare parts inventory for critical machinery.
- Supervise and verify the work conducted by external contractors.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the maintenance team, including performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) program.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure maintenance KPIs are met.
- Control maintenance budgets and prepare cost-effective expenditure plans.
- Monitor supplier trends and assess any potential impacts on equipment or materials.
- Perform risk assessments and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Ensure backup systems are in place for all plant equipment, including PLC and robotic software.
- Maintain all technical documentation for plant machinery and software.
- Promote multiskilling and cross-training within the maintenance team.
- Maintain adherence to IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and other relevant industry standards.
- Manage uptime reporting, data analytics, and production performance visualizations.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as required aligned with business needs.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Third-level degree or an equivalent qualification.
- At least five years of experience in a maintenance leadership role.
- Strong leadership skills with capability in team building and people management.
- Experience in the automotive sector is advantageous.
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet demanding deadlines.
