Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our Maintenance team at the Moorooka flour mill in Brisbane. This role involves executing both preventive and reactive maintenance on plant machinery and equipment, supporting repairs to reduce downtime, and troubleshooting mechanical (and some electrical) issues. Regular shift rotations include day and afternoon shifts Monday through Friday, with early finishes on Fridays.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct preventative and reactive maintenance activities on plant and machinery.
• Assist with breakdown repairs to ensure minimal operational downtime.
• Diagnose faults and troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical systems as applicable.
• Participate in fabrication, fitting, and repair tasks as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant manufacturing workspace.
• Adhere strictly to food safety, quality, safety policies, and site procedures.

Candidate Qualifications

• Possess a relevant trade qualification such as Mechanical Fitter & Turner.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding and dedication to workplace health and safety practices.
• Exhibit effective communication abilities and a cooperative, team-oriented mindset.
• Physically fit and comfortable with tasks involving stairs, carrying tools, and general maintenance work.
• Hold a valid Electrical license or Restricted Electrical license authorizing disconnection/reconnection work.
• PLC literacy or exposure is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience in maintenance within food manufacturing or FMCG sectors is advantageous.
