About the Role

Join Pair Eyewear as a Maintenance & Facilities Technician supporting prescription eyewear manufacturing operations based in Dubai Production City. This full-time position offers shifts on the first or second schedule, encompassing a robust hands-on role focused on maintaining production equipment and ensuring workplace safety.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold company health and safety protocols, including appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Comply with OSHA safety guidelines during all maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new operator team members as necessary.
  • Work closely with prescription lab production teams to reduce machine downtime through repairs and scheduled preventive maintenance.
  • Help implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Communicate regularly with Maintenance Leadership regarding potential issues to enable proactive problem resolution.
  • Diagnose production machinery faults and mechanical or electrical problems effectively.
  • Provide production supervisors with timely updates on equipment status to facilitate workflow adjustments.
  • Collaborate daily with Production Leadership, Quality Assurance, and various departments to maintain safe and smooth operations.
  • Prioritize and execute preventive maintenance and repairs each day, escalating concerns to Maintenance Leadership if delays arise.
  • Conduct parts auditing, manage ordering, receiving, and organization of replacement parts promptly.
  • Offer project assistance across multiple departments when needed.
  • Maintain positive working relationships across all teams and departments.

Candidate Profile

  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational capabilities.
  • Self-reliant and able to work independently within production environments.
  • Commit to completing OSHA heavy equipment trainings within the first 90 days on the job.
  • Competent in operating diverse machinery safely and alerting supervisors to any anomalies.
  • Experienced in applying formal Root Cause Analysis methods such as Fishbone diagrams, 5 Whys, and Pareto analysis to solve production challenges.
  • Active contributor to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Clear and effective communicator who works well in teams.
  • Skilled at managing multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Adaptable to a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
  • Self-driven with strong problem-solving aptitude.
  • Capable of executing assigned duties with minimal oversight.
  • Proficient computer user.
  • Dedicated to maintaining safe work environments for self and colleagues.
  • Knowledgeable about building utility operations and facilities service shut-offs.

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Between three and five years or more of experience in industrial maintenance, production equipment servicing, or facility management.
  • Proficiency in electromechanical troubleshooting practices.
  • Experienced using electrical diagnostic instruments such as multimeters.
  • Associate degree, trade school diploma, or relevant technical certification.
  • Availability for either first or second shifts, with willingness to work occasional holidays and weekends as business needs dictate.
  • Have a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
  • Physically fit to stand for most of the shift and handle materials up to 70 pounds with help.
  • Prepared to work inside facilities, outdoors, and in varied weather conditions as required.
  • Capability to successfully pass electro-mechanical written assessments.
  • Prior experience in leading, coaching, or mentoring team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with optical-related machinery.
  • Familiarity with lens manufacturing processes such as surfacing, coating, and edging.
  • Skilled in operating Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs).
  • Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Experience in inventory control and management.

Compensation Details

The hourly wage for this position falls between $26.00 and $28.00 and depends on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Additionally, short-term and long-term incentive opportunities may be available at management discretion.
