Job description
Overview
We are seeking a qualified Maintenance Engineer specialized in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems to ensure machinery, equipment, and facilities are maintained optimally. The role focuses on preventing equipment failures, repairing faults, and enhancing operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance activities ensuring team safety by reviewing blind lists, isolations, and providing safe access using best industry practices.
- Coordinate with process and reliability engineers to address operational challenges, and review or adjust preventive maintenance tasks as needed.
- Liaise with the Planner to verify Bill of Materials (BOM) and associate spare parts accurately with equipment.
- Lead troubleshooting and repairs of mechanical, electrical, or electronic issues, advising the team or recommending further action when assistance is required.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Optimize operations by reducing downtime and controlling maintenance costs.
- Maintain comprehensive maintenance documentation and reporting.
- Act as the primary technical contact for the client’s engineering team, providing support and facilitating communication for exceptional assistance.
- Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures and apply corrective measures.
- Guarantee availability and reliability of critical assets, categorizing equipment by criticality levels A, B, and C.
- Engage OEM vendors for procuring spare parts, managing Purchase Requests (CRPO) alongside client representatives, and maintaining related records per established procedures (DC/9COM/9CAT/SES).
- Support client with failure reports (RCA/FRACAS/DN) by generating analyses and ensuring engineering recommendations are implemented effectively.
- Maintain failure history logs for all equipment.
- Assist planners in material listing for major overhauls and secure necessary spare parts.
- Review and approve task lists, adjusting or revising as appropriate.
- Evaluate Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and hazard reports linked to critical jobs or vendor inspections.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and apply reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) methodologies.
- Initiate Management of Change (MOC) proposals for upgrades and seek necessary approvals.
- Prepare JSAs for critical activities in collaboration with supervisors.
- Support planners in identifying and securing critical spare parts for field work.
- Contribute to enhancing and documenting key performance indicators such as Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
