Maintenance Electrician

We are seeking experienced Maintenance Electricians to join our teams in various Auckland locations, including Henderson, Albany, East Tamaki, and Penrose. This role is vital for maintaining smooth manufacturing operations with a focus on reliability, automation, and safety.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on electrical and automation equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults in electrical systems, control systems, and automation components.
• Maintain and enhance the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing machinery and plant systems.
• Provide troubleshooting and commissioning support for PLCs, Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), and other automation technologies.
• Engage in continuous improvement projects focused on reducing equipment downtime and enhancing performance.
• Ensure all maintenance tasks comply with electrical regulations and company safety standards.
• Assist with site projects, equipment upgrades, and implementing automation enhancements.
• Collaborate with production teams, contractors, and suppliers to achieve maintenance goals effectively.
• Keep precise maintenance documentation and assist in spare parts inventory management.
• Promote excellent housekeeping, food safety, quality control, and environmental compliance.
• Contribute actively to a robust health, safety, and wellbeing culture within the workplace.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

• Must hold current New Zealand Electrical Registration and Practising Licence (A Grade preferred).
• Proven experience as a Maintenance Electrician in manufacturing sectors such as FMCG, plastics, recycling, or industrial processing.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical and automation faults efficiently.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs, VSDs, and automated control systems.
• Well-developed planning, organisational, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Commitment to health and safety protocols and continuous operational improvement.
• Excellent communication and the ability to work well within a team and independently under pressure.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office software.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Formal Electrical Engineering qualification.
• Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) like MEX.
• Background in plastics manufacturing or relevant packaging and recycling industries.
• Skills in mechanical maintenance.
• Project management and automation project experience.
