Maintenance Assistant

Role Overview

The Maintenance Assistant at BrookLodge & Macreddin Village holds a critical position in maintaining the operational efficiency and high standards of the hotel's facilities, guest accommodations, and public spaces. This role demands a hands-on, skilled professional who approaches repairs and upkeep proactively while prioritizing safety and guest satisfaction.

Key Duties

• Conduct regular checks and preventive maintenance on all hotel infrastructure including guest rooms and communal areas.
• Swiftly address maintenance issues reported by guests and staff members.
• Perform basic repairs related to plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, painting, and HVAC equipment.
• Ensure all maintenance tools and machinery are kept functional and well-maintained.
• Oversee the proper functioning of building systems such as heating, lighting, and water supply.
• Support event or function setups and teardowns when necessary.
• Collaborate effectively with housekeeping, front desk, and food & beverage teams to meet guest requirements.
• Maintain tidy and safe working conditions in maintenance areas.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines and comply with the hotel's standards and applicable laws.
• Notify the Maintenance Manager promptly about any significant maintenance problems or equipment malfunctions.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in maintenance or facilities roles, preferably within hospitality.
• Comprehensive understanding of general maintenance techniques and equipment.
• Capability to handle physically strenuous activities including lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.
• Strong communication and troubleshooting abilities.
• Willingness to work in shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• A proactive nature combined with teamwork skills.
• Relevant trade certification or technical education.
• A valid driver's license is considered a benefit.
