About the Role
Dawn Meats seeks a skilled Maintenance and Engineering Manager for its Kildare facility in County Kildare, Ireland. This permanent, full-time position offers a competitive salary aligned with experience and market rates. The role centers on leading and developing the engineering and maintenance operations to ensure optimal equipment reliability and continuous site improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the site's Engineering and Maintenance team to maintain high performance.
- Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programs aimed at maximizing plant uptime and reliability.
- Respond promptly and efficiently to equipment failures and production disruptions.
- Manage budgets related to engineering, maintenance expenses, contractors, and service providers.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives enhancing operational efficiency while minimizing downtime.
- Administer engineering stores, spare parts inventory, and maintenance management systems.
- Lead capital expenditure (CAPEX) engineering projects from inception through completion.
- Ensure adherence to health & safety, food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Collaborate closely with departments including Production, Operations, Utilities, Procurement, and Group Engineering.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of five years in management roles related to maintenance or engineering.
- Engineering degree or completion of a time-served Mechanical or Electrical trade.
- Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams within manufacturing, preferably food production or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors.
- Strong leadership capabilities paired with project management and effective problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record in promoting continuous improvement and enhancing plant reliability.
