About the Role
Our client is a globally recognized leader specializing in intelligent drive technology and bespoke systems and services. They are currently expanding their team and seeking a skilled Machinist to join them on a permanent basis in Croydon, England.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpreting engineering blueprints to direct the machining process for repairing or adjusting components.
- Setting up and operating various manual machinery including lathes, milling machines, drilling, boring, and grinding equipment.
- Working accurately within detailed specifications, utilizing measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to maintain tight tolerances.
- Designing and fabricating basic tooling and modifications to help workshop teams overcome technical challenges.
Necessary Experience and Qualifications
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship or possession of a relevant machining qualification.
- Extensive hands-on experience in operating and setting manual machining equipment.
- Competency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings using both metric and imperial measurements.
